Sky-Train Düsseldorf

Because of its expertise in operating the H-Bahn in Dortmund, the H-Bahn Gesellschaft Dortmund was asked to consult with the planning and construction of the Düsseldorf monorail facility.

In July 2002, Düsseldorf Airport opened their Sky-Train system based upon the same technology used at Dortmund University in July 2002. As a result of the new convenient connection between the railway station and the terminals the amount of automobile traffic to the airport was drastically reduced.

Route Map

The Sky-Train operates 23 meters (75 feet) above the ground. It connects the airport terminals with the new rail station on the heavily traveled Düsseldorf-Duisburg railway line in an one-minute cycle. The ride over the 2.5 kilometers (1.6 miles) long track takes approximately 5 minutes.
